In this source, “Oral Health: A Window to Your Overall Health." the Mayo Clinic does a great job of explaining good mouth hygiene leading to a good overall health. This article summarizes different diseases that can be acquired from not practicing good hygiene. Mayo Clinic states, “However, without proper oral hygiene, bacteria can reach levels that might lead to oral infections, such as tooth decay and gum disease”, which of course is very important to my essential question.
This article is beneficial to my research project because I will be able to use it as the backbone to my research. It will go over all of the things I would like to talk about during my research. I would like to use this article, so that all the information that I retrieve from it can be placed into my website and future informational outlets.

In the article, “How Poor Dental Care Can Affect Your Overall Health”, there contains a main idea of diseases that can be acquired by poor dental hygiene. It goes over four type diseases: Cardiovascular diseases, Dementia, respiratory infections and diabetic compilations. According to Colgate, “brushing and flossing keep more than your pearly whites healthy -- they might also prevent serious illnesses”.
