Hey! My name is Alejandro Salazar, but everyone calls me Alex. I am the youngest brother of two siblings, and I am an uncle of 1 nephew and 4 nieces. I am currently a junior in the R.A.C.E program at Chestatee High School. One of my favorite activities is soccer which is why I am on the varsity soccer team of Chestatee War Eagles. I also enjoy my time outside of school as a youth leader of Revolution Youth Ministries, where I love to dedicate most of my time too. When I am not a soccer practice, my church, or school, I am probably at Walgreens, where I am currently working a part time job as a pharmacy cashier.
The reason why I chose to enroll in the Honors Mentorship Program was because I wanted to know how it was like to experience a real life healthcare profession. Why I chose something in the medical field was because since I was a little boy I knew that is what I wanted. I remember when I was younger, I would love going to the doctors office, and invade the pediatricians with questions about what they did through out their day, and constantly tell them I wanted to be them when I grew up. But it wasn't until my brother of 16 years old at the time, passed away from a drowning accident, that I knew that a medical field profession was for me. The reason why I felt this was the correct field, was because I combined both of my favorite things together, helping others and the medical field. Now as you journey through my website you will be able to find many interesting things I learned through my mentorship.
